Activities are the core offerings you manage on the Buddy Booking Platform. Whether you're organizing diving tours, certification courses, or multi-day trips, understanding activity types and their management helps you effectively showcase and sell your services.

Types of Activities

The platform supports three main types of activities to accommodate different diving experiences:

Tours

Short-duration experiences ideal for day activities:

  • Single dive or snorkel sessions

  • Wreck dive tours

  • Reef excursions

  • Duration typically a few hours

  • Can schedule multiple slots per day

  • Flexible capacity management

  • Ideal for certified divers and beginners

Courses

Training programs available in two formats:

In-person Courses

  • Scheduled classroom and practical sessions

  • Physical attendance required

  • Can include e-learning components

  • Certification-focused training

  • Group or private instruction options

E-learning Courses

  • Fully online, self-paced learning

  • No physical attendance needed

  • Managed through affiliate platforms

  • Digital certification programs

  • Automated student management

Trips

Multi-day diving experiences combining:

  • Multiple diving activities

  • Accommodation arrangements

  • Extended itineraries

  • Comprehensive packages

  • Group travel coordination

Activity States

Every activity exists in one of three states:

Draft

  • Initial setup phase

  • Not visible to customers

  • Fully editable

  • Used while configuring details

Published

  • Live and available for booking

  • Visible in search results

  • Booking restrictions apply

  • Limited editing capabilities

Unpublished

  • Temporarily hidden from customers

  • Preserves existing bookings

  • No new bookings allowed

  • Can be republished later

A: Consider the duration and complexity:

Q: Can I convert between activity types?

A: No, activity types cannot be converted. Create a new activity with the desired type instead.

Activity Management

Q: How many activities can I create?

A: There's no limit to the number of activities you can create. Focus on organizing them effectively for easy management.

Q: Can I copy an existing activity?

A: You can duplicate an activity by navigating to Settings > Activities > Select the desired activity from Tours/Courses/Trips > Click on the 3-dots in Actions column > Click on Duplicate.

Note that duplicating an activity only duplicates the listing details, you will still need to create the availabilities for the newly created activity.

Publishing and Visibility

Q: When should I publish an activity?

A: Publish when:

  • All details are configured correctly

  • Pricing is finalized

  • Schedule is confirmed

  • Resources are available

Q: What if I need to cancel a published activity?

A: You can unpublish to prevent new bookings by navigating to Settings > Activities > Select the desired activity from Tours/Courses/Trips > Click on the 3-dots in Actions column > Click on Unpublish.

It is important that you reach out to existing customers to rebook or cancel their bookings as per their preference.
